The Vermont Arts Council, in association with Governor Phil Scott, presents the 2017 Governor’s Arts Awards. These awards are given annually to recognize outstanding individual and organizational contributions to the arts.

We invite you to join us in honoring:

Author and illustrator David Macaulay of Norwich, recipient of The Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts, the highest honor presented to an artist by the state of Vermont.

Author Chris Bohjalian of Addison County, recipient of the Walter Cerf Medal for Outstanding Achievement in the Arts.

Performer and teacher Taryn Noelle of Stowe, recipient of the Ellen McCulloch-Lovell Award in Arts Education.

CERF+ executive director Cornelia Carey of Calais, recipient of the Margaret L. (Peggy) Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy

Vermont Folklife Center folklorist Gregory L. Sharrow of Middlebury, recipient of the Arthur Williams Award for Meritorious Service to the Arts.

Special performance by Christal Brown and the Middlebury Dance Company

A reception will be held immediately following the awards presentation with light refreshments and a cash bar.
